Letter to younger self

Dear Younger Self,
This is the first time I’m writing to you. Perhaps, it’s a proper time to write to you. This coming October you will be completing 25 years of your insane journey. Somehow you have managed it, yet, and you have a very long way to go at my friend. But, while finishing the 1/4th of a journey, there are few things you’d like to hear. You might be confused, puzzled and curious to know, how did it go? Is it worth? Etc. I will stop you right there, weaving confusions, stop thinking. Just take a breath and hear it out, and I quote,”YOU DID WELL.”
Yes! You read it right.
So, let’s get this straight. I’m penning this to eradicate all your bewilderment and to consult you. First of all, the decision of leaving the engineering and aiming for a career in creativity and art was audacious. You would be proud of what you have achieved so far. You have a degree in your preferred subject and a career under your belt.
Secondly, do not worry about the relationships. I know you are young and carefree. But accept it. Acknowledge the person involved in it. They will give you emotional lessons. They will help you grow and motivate you.
Thirdly, do not stress out on things too much. Keep it simple. You are running on the right track with a decent speed. For starters, value your time, be kind to yourself. Have faith in your decisions, eventually they turned out to be the best. Be more generous to people around you. Lastly, have patience, and you will know that, everything happens for a reason. Just that, please use your time in learning few things like swimming, or something related to music, the only complaint I have from you.
Finally yet importantly, you are an ambitious person. To meet your goals, you will travel places. But don’t let it be the reason of distancing from our parents, I’m telling you from my personal experience, you will need them the most.
That’s the 1/4th of a cycle. And I vow, the remaining series of events will shine good and bright. Spoiler alert: You will celebrate your 25th birthday in style. A bunch of wonderful people surrounds you. You literally got your magic beans. Trust me, you are good at saving money too. To close, always remember, diet is a myth. Don’t stop eating. For me. For you. For us.
Your elder version
